Hello,
Thought I would send you a couple of photos from that May 1 storm.

I was north of BG on St Rt. 25 when I heard the deputies (on my scanner) say they had one
on the ground by Rudolph. From where I was at, it looked like a large black cloud touching
the ground & moving east. I could see the clouds high above, but not the connection in
between it and the ground cloud. It was not powerful enough to pull the debris all the way up.

I got to the north edge of BG & went around until I got to Huffman Rd & headed south.
I live just north of St Rt. 281. Of course, while I was trying to catch up with it,
I listened to the scanner & heard that they were still following & mentioning some of the
damage. Folks started to call in with damage, too. I got to my house & found that I had
lost a lot of siding on the north side of the house and garage. My basketball hoop & stand
was laying across the driveway. Even when I got out of my car, there was a piece of siding
still in the air several hundred feet, swirling around like a kite. It finally came down about
˝ mile away in the woods.

It evidently went behind the homes along St Rt 281 for a while. Most of the shingles,
on the backside of the row of houses, were standing straight up.

This is not the FIRST time for one to come thru that exact location! Just a little history…
In 2004, actually it might have been 2005, saw a funnel going down Good Rd..

Just north of St Rt 281, off of Huffman. I don’t think it was on the ground, but very close.
It was dark & raining. There was a report on the scanner of a funnel cloud going toward
Huffman & Good Rd, I opened up the back door just in time to see it…thanks to the lightning!

Again in 2004, another near miss, photos as it went east from the back of our house.
In 2002, one skirted that end of the house & grabbed the support pole (4x4)
along with 2 4x8’ trellis that was attached, & threw them about 50 yards out at the edge
of my property.

In 2001, we saw the same type of action with the cloud on the ground, nothing in between,
and you could see the rotation in the cloud way above. Several garage doors had to be
replaced in that row of houses on St Rt 281.

In 2000, there were 2 times that year that funnel clouds were sighted at 281 & Huffman.

In 1953, a killer tornado came from around McComb and hit a building at Jerry City & Rudolph Rd.
and came very close to that same intersection as it made it’s way toward Wayne. I spoke with
the gentleman that lived in that home & he remembered it quite well. The father of a close friend
was there the day after & saw straw embedded in the telephone poles (they were leaning badly).
I will send a couple of other storm photos from a couple of seasons ago from my front porch.
---I thought I had them on my home computer, but they must be on my laptop... I will get those to you later.
Thank you,

Alice B.
